ODP Players Chosen from Southwest Soccer Club

Kaylee Mason

Kaylee Mason, the youngest of four children, began her soccer career at the age of seven. The Shivela Middle School student, was on cloud nine when she received the news that she was selected to ODP. “It was the greatest feeling ever! I felt as if all the hard work was finally paying off. And just knowing that I made it this far is unbelievable!” Since being selected to ODP, Mason has learned to relax and have fun because as she said, “If you are nervous, you won’t perform to the best of your ability. Just do your best!”

Mason is proud to be a member of the SWSC GU13 Silver Elite team. “Southwest Soccer Club was the first and only club that I have played for, it is an honor to be able to say that I have played for them," said Mason. Mason does not take this honor for granted either, “I would like to thank God for blessing me with the talent that I have.” She also thanks her family for always being there for her, especially her mother and father for taking her to all her games and practices. In addition Mason credits her coach Jenny Lawlor for improving her game and skills trainer, Jason Leonard for helping her reach the next level.

What lies ahead for Kaylee Mason, “I hope that my hard work and dedication to soccer will help make me successful, I hope that I will be able to go far in ODP and one day play professionally.”
