SWSC BU14 Blue Win Silver Medals

On January 14-15, in their first post-season soccer tournament at the Southwest Winter Classic, the SWSC BU14 Blue team battled their way into the Championship match where they won silver medals. The boys fought hard in Gold-bracket play which ended in double draws; 1-1 against Presidio Premier Surf White and 0-0 against Paris St. Germain, a Coast Silver Elite team. SWSC BU14 Blue was victorious, 1-0, in the semi-final game versus Presidio Premier Del Mar Sharks. While SWSC dominated most of that game, SWSC’s defense had to muster extra strength and focus to get them through the closing second half when the Sharks turned up the heat in front of the SWSC goal in an effort to tie up the game so it woul d be determined by penalty kicks. In the Championship match, SWSC was paired up with Paris St. Germain once more. This time, PSG managed to score the winning goal at the end of the second half; SWSC was awarded the silver medals.
