For the second consecutive year the Southwest Soccer Club has been selected to host the Cal South State Cup. This year SWSC will host the U9, U10 and U11 divisions for three consecutive weekends beginning January 31, 2004.
During the first weekend, SWSC hosts the opening round U9 and U10 games. Over 200 teams from Southern California will participate. Preliminary planning calls for the John Blanche Memorial Soccer Complex to be configured as 20 8v8 fields. The second weekend (February 7-8) features continuation of the U9/10 games as well as U11 games. Approximately 12 8v8 and 8 11v11 fields will be needed. The "Round of 8" "Semis" and "Finals" for the U9-11 will be held the weekend of February 14-15.
An estimated 40,000 soccer enthusiasts will visit the Temecula/Murrieta region during the tournament.
