Welcome to Temecula and Southwest Soccer Summer Classic 2003

On behalf of Southwest Soccer Club it's Board of Directors, Committee Members, sponsors, coaches and players, we would like to welcome you to our third annual Summer Classic Tournament. We are extremely excited that you're chosen to be a part of our tournament and we are committed to make this a positive soccer experience for you.

Southwest Soccer Classic 2003 is being held in memory and honor of John Blanche. John Blanche provided many years of dedication, participation and financial support to many soccer organizations and players. SWSC was honored to have John Blanche serve as one of three original members of our board of directors. We will never be able to replace what he contributed to our organization, players, coaches, parents and the entire soccer community.

When we began planning the Southwest Soccer Classic Tournaments, we determined that there were four critical elements required to insure a successful tournament; Quality Fields, Quality Competition, Quality Refereeing and a Quality Staff committed to insure a quality experience.

1. We feel that we are providing one of the best all one-site 19 field location facilities in Southern California at our newly opened John Blanche Memorial Soccer Complex.

2. We are proud that we have over 175 teams entered including quality clubs participating such as Surf, Pegasus, S.C. Slammers, Aresnol F.C., Claremont Stars, Del Mark Sharks, Hot Spurs USA, P.Q. Premier, as well as some from Arizona and Nevada.

3. We have entered into an agreement with the Inland Empire Soccer Referee Association (IESRA) to coordinate and referee all matches.

4. SWSC will have staff of over 90 people to facilitate and assure a positive soccer experience for everyone.

We are committed to developing our Soccer Classic Tournaments to be the premier tournaments in Southern California. We wish to thank you, the parents, coaches, and players for having the confidence in SWSC to participate in our third annual Southwest Soccer Summer Classic Tournament. It is our goal that the tournament will provide an exciting and unique competitive annual event that your team looks forward to each year.

In addition to establishing our new Southwest Soccer Winter and International Classic tournaments in 2002/2003, SWSC enlisted the services of Roy Rees, one of the most accomplished youth soccer coaches in the country. Roy has joined SWSC as our Director of Coaching and Player Development. Following the hiring of Roy Rees, SWSC opened the John Blanche Memorial Soccer Complex in September 2002, and continues to advance and improve the facilities. Beginning in June 2003, SWSC has partnered with Adidas as our tournament sponsor, who will help lift SWSC to the next level. Not only will SWSC be sporting Adidas uniforms and equipment, but you will see their name all over our complex and publications.

Please mark your calendars now to participate in all three of our Southwest Soccer Classic Tournaments; the International Classic is being held August 15-18, 2003, and the Winter Clsssic is being held on December 26-28,2003. All Southwest Classic Tournaments will be held at the John Blanche Memorial Soccer Complex, home of the Southwest Soccer Club, here in beautiful Temecula Valley.
