SWSC GU14 Advancing to State Cup Finals
The SWSC girls U-14 are on their way to the finals of The State Cup Open Tournament! In the first weekend of pool play in Lancaster, the girls defeated RSF Attack 2-1, Coastal Quest SC 4-1, and Inland United 2-1. The next weekend, they traveled to Bakersfield where in the round of 32 they defeated CSC San Diego Spirit white 1-0, in the round of 16 they defeated Beach Soccer 2-0, and after two 10 minute overtimes it came down to the last PK shot when SWSC came out ahead 2-1 over DBWV Rush. In the semi-final game the girls played with heart and defeated the Hotspurs 2-1, to advance to the finals. The girls, who are coached by Rachid ElBekraoui, has the determination and drive to go all the way. Coach Rachid feels the girls have an excellent chance of winning The State Cup Championship. They will be playing on Sun. April 27th at 8:30 AM at the CYSA soccer complex in San Bernardino. Anyone in the club that can, is encouraged to come and support the girls in this important and exciting game!
