Rubio's Fundraiser for Brandon

Brandon Ruiz was playing for Colby's BU16 team at State Cup this weekend in Lancaster. After the games, during their drive back home, the family car was involved in a head on collision, the result of which was horrific. Brandon's mom was killed on impact and his dad and sister suffered broken legs.

Brandon was seriously injured too and remains in the hospital with two broken legs, a broken ankle a collapsed lung and broken ribs.

Brandon is a great kid who loves soccer. Even though events like this make soccer fade into insignificance, soccer (and our club) may well prove to be one of those vital pillars on which Brandon and his family can lean on for support during these tough times ahead. Events such as these put things in perspective and makes us realize how fragile life is. It is very important at this time to show our support for these kids on this team and the Ruiz family in every way we possibly can. Colby's manager, Vic, is going to set up an account for a Memorial Fund. As soon as I get more info I will let you all know.

At this time the John Blanche Memorial Soccer Complex, Arsenal FC/SWSC will be donating a portion of the proceeds to this fund from parking fees collected this weekend at State Cup. Please know that any and all support will be greatly appreciated by the Ruiz family.

Donations should be sent to:

Ruiz Family Fund
23560 Kettle Rd
Murrieta, CA 92562

Thanks,
Jeremy Healey,
Arsenal F.C.
