SWSC parent Richard Alvarez, father of Rachel Alvarez who plays on the GU15 White team with Coach Jenny Lawlor, received the Galaxy Volunteer of the Year Award on 2/17/07 at the Nike Awards Banquet in LA. This award is sponsored by the LA Galaxy and recognizes outstanding contributions by an individual to benefit youth soccer. For the last 12 years Richard has volunteered in Murrieta and Temecula youth soccer in multiple capacities, as a recreation coach, competitive coach, trainer and board member.
