Former SWSC Players Host Soccer Camps in Mexico

Kenny Smith and Jeff Bristol, members of one of SWSC’s inaugural teams, hosted a soccer clinic for the local boys and girls of a small Mexican pueblo called Troncones. The small village is located about 45 minutes north of Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa, on the Pacific side of mainland Mexico. The clinic lasted for a week and day one saw just two participants; however, by the end of the week, there were two 11 v 11 games and involved players from an adjacent village. The camp was considered a huge success by the village and all the children seemed to thoroughly enjoy the much needed attention and coaching. The participants received jerseys, shorts, t-shirts, and balls throughout the week and were thrilled with gifts. All and all, the camp brought a positive ambiance to the village and an inspiration for the local children to keep playing our world’s game
