SWSC Opening Day 2006
The official start of SWSC season began August 19, with the SWSC teams who play in Presidio League. To mark the start of the league season, the club in conjunction with Cleats 4 Kids held Opening Day Sunday, August 27th.
For those of you who attended, thank you for coming out and showing your SWSC spirit. A special thank you to the teams who held fundraisers. You did an awesome job!!
The karaoke machine, sponsored by Soccer Kid, was a big hit with the GU13 Elite and GU14 players and the GU8 players had a blast with the bubble gum chewing contest. The BU9 team loved getting wet with the dribble water balloon race. Some of the BU12 and 13 boys had a pick-up street soccer game and were a big help setting up all the eZ-ups.
Cleats 4 Kids collected much needed used cleats, shin guards and soccer jerseys for children in Hurricane Katrina stricken Louisiana. Also on hand Stanley, from Soccer Kid, who has on hand to sell SWSC t-shirts and sweatshirts.
Special thank you to Cleats 4 Kids for organizing this event! Next year we hope that more teams participate in this great event.
