SWSC BU8 Win Hotspurs Tournament

The Southwest Soccer Club (SWSC) BU8 team coached by Cliff Moss and Erik Thompson, won the championship in the Boy’s U8 division at the 2006 Hotspurs Labor Day Tournament, which was held Sept. 2-4 at the Coronado Tidelands Park in San Diego. The team went undefeated in bracket play, beating FC Heat 4-2 and CV Rangers 7-0 on Saturday, and Hotspurs Blue 4-0 on Sunday. The semi-final game was a classic as SWSC edged out Rancho Santa Fe 2-0 for the win. The Championship game was even more dramatic against Hotspurs White. The game was a 2-2 tie midway through the second half when SWSC exploded for 3 goals to claim the title.
